Por K.R.A.P. 15/10/2007 às 15:13 [Casa das Pombas] Open Call-Out to Common People Enchantment of our lives. To all our comrades, who share with us, beyond ashen lives, the struggle to occupy and colour the neglect imposed by urban profit-earning, of the speculation of the few over the many. To all who share daily dreams of life with freedom and happy for those who do not wish to accumulate capital, but to resist it. Friends, it is not today that existances begin and end, even when our moments of greatest intensity are in black and white, meaningless, stolen, exploited-, inserted into a color-stripped mass environment, filled with concrete, steel, imposing edifices which claw the sky, above all of the competition of the market and the speculation of things mobile ? like us? -and immobile. These things ?immobile things, ?property?, occupied by the people, built by the people, should be occupied, used, remade, traded, given, painted, conserved, and re-signified by them. Is this not so? In the reality of present times, or centuries past, it has not been so. What people see is a great and cold distance between us and that which should be our space. Hey, why has this happened? It happened because the dominant forces, the rich, have their values, their culture: the object to be sold, profit, is worth more then people. ?Things are treated better then people. Profit, and therefore merchandise and private property, matter more then people. The State and Capital leave this clear ? spaces may not belong to the people, to society, to be used, to be re-given meaning ? and what?s worse, this after they were built by us, common people! So, for the sake of garrantying speculation or maintaining the sacred right of private property, the people are doubly excluded from spaces which should belong to them and to nature. The land is taken from the campesinos, a roof is distant for urban workers. For these reasons there are many who do not calm themselves, who do not surrender before the forces of the existing order of things. Be they like the ?kraakings? autonomists of Europe in the 1970?s, like the land occupations of mass movements like the MST, or urban like the MTST, like autonomous social/cultural centres self-managed by subversive youth throughout the world, including here in Brasil, they stand large in our histories of resistance and local or global transformation. It becomes alarming to state that nearly 34 million people in Brasil are in the sub-human condition of homelessness (according to the UN!). In Brasilia, the GDF (police) carried out various evictions of families living in people?s occupations this year. On the other side, in the sister struggles of the MST and the MTD and us in K.R.(A)P, Kolectivo de Resistencia AnarchoPunk, it is noticeable that we wish to repeat our own experiences which continue in the path of resistance, of another culture, of a counter-culture, for liberty, for the self-management of our own lives, like we demand and demanded during last year?s elections. Experiences of defying this system of ?things? as they are. At the end of 2006, working with various companions in the struggle for autonomy, we did something which we had so often called for: an occupation! In a working class neighbourhood, the occupation had strong community support, despite the fact that we suffered eviction and police repression that same day. Lately, we have been speaking about trying again, thinking about what the best way to arrive at this goal and the group connectivity which we had in the past. For this, understanding that solidarity and mutual aid are more then just words, more then just perspectives ? they are practices of autonomy, of self-management, of counter-culture ? we wish to, as the Kolectivo de Resistencia AnarchoPunk that we are, call on those individuals, collectives, and movements who could be interested in working together in solidarity on a project with socio-cultural goals of occupying an abandoned space here in the Federal District (Brasilia.). In the meantime, we have already begun this process of organization. We wish that such a daring initiative (only one, but we are not going to stop) could lead to a self-managed social centre, an example of those that already exist throughout the country and the rest of the world, based on principals of horizontalism and independence. We hope that starting now we can begin to meet with more people. We all wait attentively for any call for this. Any other support, such as donations of tools, is also welcome. . It is with pleasure that KR(A)P invites you to become involved, to help our rebel and daring (but very modest) undertaking, based on our principals and experiences, now of some time, which we have accumulated. The criteria for entering this movement are simple: it is enough to wish to build another space, another world, of resistance, and to agree that this model of the world of property which now exists, which immobilizes the people, is unjust and does not consider the demands of life of individuals, of autonomy and horizontalism. We believe that we ?carry a new world in our hearts? and we can build it through actions starting now, with a sense of modesty and the collectivity. If not now, when? If it is not us, who? We reiterate our invitation, a call for solidarity and mutual aid is made. We are strengthened by all the sister projects of the struggle. One eviction, another occupation! An occupied space is an enchanted space! Free communication, bodies, mobility and spaces! Freedom! Kolectivo de Resistencia AnarchoPunk D.F. August 2007
